Full job description

As we continue to grow...

Roles evolve, workloads change and sometimes genuinely great applicants can get missed simply due to the volume of interest we receive. If you've applied previously and still believe you'd be a good fit for A Plus, don't let that stop you from applying again.

We're building something properly here and we're always looking for the right people to join the team.

WE HAVE THE CLIENTS.
WE HAVE THE WORK.
WE NEED THE RIGHT PEOPLE.

Welcome to A Plus Clean – Evolving to A Plus Services

Alright, let's cut to the chase.

We're A Plus Clean Ltd. (although increasingly becoming known as A Plus Services) and we're looking for an experienced Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative to join our growing maintenance team working primarily within Housing Association and Local Authority properties across the South Coast.

This is not a role for someone who wants an easy ride.

This is for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, enjoys diagnosing problems, adapts under pressure and gets satisfaction from leaving a property better than they found it.

We need people with a first-time-fix mentality.

People who don't stand there waiting for someone else to figure it out.

People who take ownership.

People who adapt and overcome.

What We're Looking For

Before we tell you about us, let's be clear about who we want joining the team.

We want A+ individuals.

People with a positive, can-do mindset who thrive when challenges arise rather than fold under pressure.

We want someone who:

  • Takes pride in delivering quality work properly, not just quickly
  • Understands the balance between quality, financial budgets and time pressures
  • Wants to improve systems, processes and standards across the wider business
  • Works with the office team, schedulers and management rather than against them
  • Can diagnose faults efficiently and communicate professionally with tenants and clients
  • Has high standards of presentation, housekeeping and customer care
  • Wants to develop themselves and grow with a business that is rapidly evolving

If you enjoy variety, fault finding and taking ownership of your work, keep reading.

A Cleaning Company Needs a Plumber?!?

Yes. You read that correctly.

A Plus Clean began life back in 2007 specialising in exterior cleaning. Over time our customers trusted us more and more because of how we worked — honest communication, high standards and doing what we said we would do.

That trust opened doors.

Since 2022 we've rapidly expanded into reactive and planned maintenance and now operate across multiple trades for Housing Associations, Councils and commercial clients throughout the South Coast.

Today we deliver:

  • Plumbing
  • Bathroom repairs and installations
  • Carpentry
  • Fire door works
  • Fenestration
  • Flooring
  • Damp & mould remediation
  • Roofing repairs
  • General maintenance
  • Exterior works
  • Specialist cleaning services

We're becoming the go-to contractor for clients who want problems solved properly.

That growth means we need more good people.

Why Join A Plus?

Because we're building something properly.

We invest in our people, our vehicles, our systems and our standards. We're not interested in being a cowboy outfit running vans into the ground and sending engineers out with no support.

Benefits

  • Company vehicle under 3 years old
  • Fully lined and racked vans with proper setup
  • Full uniform and PPE provided
  • Competitive salary with overtime opportunities
  • Performance and progression opportunities for the right people
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Additional holiday entitlement after 2 years' service
  • Company pension
  • Health & wellbeing support
  • Ongoing training and upskilling
  • Team events, socials and a genuinely strong team culture
  • Supportive management who actually want to see you succeed

The Role

This is a varied plumbing role with opportunities to carry out wider multi-trade works where appropriate.

You'll primarily be working in occupied Housing Association and Local Authority properties carrying out reactive maintenance, planned works and compliance-based repairs.

Typical works may include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing plumbing faults
  • Leaking taps, toilets and pipework
  • WC repairs and replacements
  • Shower repairs and installations
  • Sink, basin and waste replacements
  • Ball valves, stop taps and isolation valves
  • Minor bathroom refurbishments
  • Hot and cold water system repairs
  • Minor drainage issues
  • Silicone sealing and making good
  • Basic multi-trade repairs where required
  • First-time-fix reactive maintenance

Some days you'll complete a smooth run of straightforward jobs.

Other days you'll walk into a property with multiple issues, limited information and a tenant relying on you to find the solution.

That's the role.

Adapt and overcome.

What Makes You a Good Fit?

✅ Strong plumbing background

✅ Experience working in occupied properties

✅ Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills

✅ Professional and respectful with tenants and clients

✅ Able to manage your workload independently

✅ Pride in workmanship and attention to detail

✅ Understanding of safe and compliant working practices

✅ Full UK driving licence

✅ Comfortable using technology and job management systems

✅ Multi-trade experience would be an advantage

✅ Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS checks

The Day-to-Day

No two days are the same.

You'll start the morning with your job schedule, your van stocked and ready, and everything you need to deliver a productive day.

From there you'll be out solving problems, helping customers and working closely with the office and wider team to deliver jobs safely, professionally and efficiently.

Some jobs will test your patience.

Some jobs will test your fault-finding ability.

Some jobs will remind you exactly why you became a plumber in the first place.

At the end of the day, we want people who care.

People who want to be part of building something better.

Ready to Join the Team?

If you're looking for a role where your attitude, effort and ability actually matter, we want to hear from you.

This isn't just another plumbing job.

It's an opportunity to join a business with ambition, high standards and serious momentum.

Apply now and let's have a conversation.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension

Application question(s):

  • We need Multitrade operatives who are as comfortable fitting/replacing a bathroom as they are finding and fixing a leak alongside carrying out minor repairs in a property, is this you?
