About Us

Wing's Technical Services Ltd is a growing Facilities Management company delivering Mechanical, Electrical, Fire & Security, Building and Specialist Services across the South of England. Working with schools, commercial properties and public sector clients, we pride ourselves on providing a professional, responsive and customer-focused service.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to lead our mechanical division and support the delivery of commercial gas, plumbing, heating and mechanical projects across our client portfolio.

The Role

This is a senior management position responsible for overseeing engineers, subcontractors, projects, compliance and client relationships. You will play a key role in the continued growth of the mechanical department while ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The role will involve a mixture of office, site and client-based work throughout Hampshire and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of mechanical engineers and subcontractors
  • Planning and allocating daily workloads
  • Managing projects and maintenance contracts from enquiry through to completion
  • Carrying out site surveys, inspections and client meetings
  • Pricing remedial works, quoted projects and maintenance contracts
  • Monitoring project costs, labour and material expenditure
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
  • Reviewing RAMS, certifications and compliance documentation
  • Conducting toolbox talks and engineer performance reviews
  • Supporting engineers with technical guidance and problem solving
  • Managing suppliers and material procurement
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Identifying opportunities for additional works and contract growth
  • Producing quotations, reports and project updates for management and clients

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Mechanical Supervisor, Contracts Manager or Mechanical Manager role
  • Strong background in commercial plumbing, heating and mechanical services
  • Experience managing engineers and subcontractors
  • Experience pricing works and managing project budgets
  • Good understanding of mechanical compliance and Health & Safety requirements
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Plumbing & Heating or equivalent
  • Commercial Gas Qualifications, including:
  • CODNCO1
  • CIGA1
  • CORT1
  • ICPN1
  • TPCP1A
  • TPCP1
  • CDGA1
  • CENWAT
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • SMSTS or SSSTS
  • Experience within schools, healthcare or commercial facilities management environments
  • Experience using CAFM or job management systems
