Cardo Group is a trusted provider of building maintenance, refurbishment, and retrofit services for social housing and public sector buildings across the UK. With nationwide coverage and skilled local teams, we deliver a reliable end-to-end service that ensures homes and public spaces are safe, sustainable, and well-maintained.

Cardo Group is becoming one of the UK’s most forward-thinking maintenance and retrofit providers. Do you want to be part of something great?

We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team covering the Launceston area.

Role Overview:

The role requires competence across multiple trades, ensuring work is completed to a high standard, on time, and in line with health & safety and customer care standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake a variety of trade tasks including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, painting & decorating, tiling, and basic electrical works.
  • Respond to day-to-day repair requests and emergency call-outs in occupied homes.
  • Carry out void property works to ensure homes meet the “Lettable Standard” before reoccupation.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants, explaining the nature of work, expected timescales, and any disruption.
  • Deliver a polite, professional, and respectful service, particularly in occupied homes.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with relevant building regulations, company policies, and H&S procedures.
  • Use appropriate PPE and maintain safe working environments.
  • Complete work right first time, minimising follow-up visits.
  • Record work details accurately via handheld device or job sheet system.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good order.
  • The post holder will also, as required, provide an out of hours service provision on a rota or other basis.

You Will Need:

  • Proven ability across multiple trades, ideally within social housing or domestic settings
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in a core trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, plastering).
  • Experience working in occupied properties with a strong focus on customer care.

We Will Provide:

  • Excellent development and progression opportunities
  • 23 days holiday, plus bank holidays
  • Competitive salary up to £34,000 - £36,000
  • Range of Salary Sacrifice Schemes [holiday purchase, EV schemes, AVC Pension contributions]
  • Company Van + fuel card
  • Tool voucher – annual allowance to purchase tools
  • Wellbeing Resources and Counselling services
  • Retail & Lifestyle Discount Platform
  • Enhanced Family Leave Provisions
  • Recognition initiatives and awards

Please note all our roles are subject to Background, Identity & Security checks before commencement of employment.
