Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and proactive Maintenance worker / Handyman to carry out general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of our properties and facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring houses, rooms, and outdoor areas are maintained to a high standard, responding promptly to maintenance requests, and completing work safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, and basic electrical work.
  • Carry out routine inspections to identify maintenance issues and potential hazards.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
  • Install, repair, and replace fixtures, fittings, doors, locks, flooring, and other building components.
  • Maintain outdoor areas including fencing, pathways, and basic gardening as required.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
  • Keep accurate records of completed work, materials used, and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in general building maintenance or a handyman role.
  • Good working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical repairs.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently.
  • Competent in the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work under minimal supervision.
  • Flexible, dependable, and willing to respond to urgent maintenance needs.
  • Must have clean driving licence

Hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm then alternate week Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 5pm.

Pay: £33,000.00-£33,001.00 per year
