Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Estimator to join our team. This role is predominantly office-based, with responsibilities centred around reviewing engineers' job cards, preparing cost estimates, and producing tender documents for both commercial and domestic plumbing projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in plumbing and will be adept at calculating prices and compiling estimates while working closely with engineers and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Analysis and Estimation:

Analyse architectural and engineering drawings to produce accurate cost estimates and identify additional costs.

Prepare net cost tender documents for various projects, ensuring all aspects are covered comprehensively.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

Collaborate with engineers and key stakeholders to discuss project details and understand the scope of work.

Provide valuable input on successful tenders when necessary.

• Supplier and Pricing Management:

Develop comparison schedules for supplier costs to ensure competitiveness.

Calculate and compile estimates, monitoring prices to identify compliant and non-compliant bids, and sourcing additional or alternative prices when needed.

Track and manage correspondence related to pricing enquiries to ensure clarity and accuracy.

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience in commercial and domestic plumbing, with a strong understanding of industry standards and practices.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.

Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders.

Proficient in preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates and tender documents.

Ability to work to tight deadlines and to targets.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with estimating.

Knowledge of current market rates and trends in the plumbing industry.

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
