The Role
Here at Fortem Solutions we’re currently recruiting for a Plumber Multi to join our Orbit Housing contract on a full time, permanent basis. This role would be working in our Repairs & Maintenance team, working closely with local tenants to fix issues in their houses. We have a team of Planners in our head office who take calls from tenants and then plan your day out, making sure the houses you attend are in your patch and you have all the information you need before you get there. We’re looking for a Multi Trade, so although we’d expect your primary skill to be in Plumbing, we would need you to have basic skills in one or more of Carpentry, Plastering, Tiling, Groundwork or Painting & Decorating and be able to undertake jobs without supervision. This would primarily be solo work, however you will be given a company van and fuel card and you’ll have Supervisors on hand should you need any help
The Client
Fortem’s contract with Orbit Housing covers over 17,000 properties across Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford. We have multiple workstreams, including Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and Re-Roofing. We are currently rated as 4.5 on Glassdoor and 93% of staff would recommend to a friend!
Duties & Responsibilities
• Using Plumbing knowledge of Unvented Cylinders and all plumbing repairs work whilst advising your Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required. • Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects. • Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices. • Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants. • Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner. • Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times. • Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures • Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.
Essential & Desirable Criteria
Essential: • Core Trade being Plumbing, but have at least basic skills in multiple other Trades • Must be able to work solo, without supervision • Must be able to use a tablet to receive jobs and create notes • Full UK driving licence Desirable: • Experience working within social housing
