Heating Engineer & Plumber

Croston Plumbing & Heating Ltd - Chorley, Lancashire
Full-time | Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm

Croston Plumbing & Heating is looking for an experienced Heating Engineer & Plumber to join our growing team.

We are a family-run business established for over 20 years, with a strong reputation across Chorley and the surrounding areas. As the company continues to grow, we're looking for a reliable and experienced engineer who takes pride in their workmanship and provides excellent service to our customers.

This is a varied role covering all aspects of domestic plumbing, heating and gas work.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Boiler installations and replacements
  • Boiler servicing and maintenance
  • Boiler breakdowns and fault finding
  • Landlord Gas Safety Checks
  • General domestic plumbing and heating work
  • Powerflushing and heating system maintenance
  • Installation and replacement of radiators, including designer radiators
  • 1st and 2nd fix plumbing on new-build properties
  • Bathroom plumbing and installations
  • Planning and installing bathroom pipework
  • Preparing bathrooms ready for tiling and other trades
  • Diagnosing plumbing and heating faults
  • Advising customers on appropriate repairs and improvements

Experience with Underfloor Heating (UFH) and Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) would be a strong advantage, as these are growing areas of our business.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience across domestic plumbing and heating
  • Be experienced and competent with gas and boiler work
  • Have good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Work to a consistently high standard
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Be reliable, punctual and professional
  • Have a full set of appropriate tools
  • Take pride in keeping customers' homes clean and tidy while working

Additional Commission

We offer engineers the opportunity to earn additional commission for converting boiler quotations and identifying or recommending other appropriate services that Croston Plumbing & Heating provides.

We're looking for engineers who can spot opportunities while giving customers genuine, professional advice rather than using a hard-sales approach.

Location

Our work is primarily across Chorley and the surrounding areas.

Due to the nature of the role and the areas we cover, we are primarily looking for applicants based within approximately 15 miles of Chorley.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm

Weekend overtime may also be available.
