Full job description
Plumber – 230 A DAY VAN SUPPLIED OR 260 A DAY WITHOUT
WE SUPPLY FUEL CARD
Overview
Established in 1999, ARK Group Services are a responsive maintenance company supporting landlords, letting agents and tenants across the private rented sector (no social housing). We’re based in Woking and work for around 60 letting agents across Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire and the wider home counties, completing over 9,000 jobs a year across plumbing, gas, electrical and damp and mould.
We are looking for an experienced Plumber to join our maintenance team. You’ll be working in occupied rental properties day to day, dealing with the plumbing faults that landlords and letting agents send our way – mostly reactive, some planned – and leaving every job properly recorded and the tenant knowing what’s been done.
What you’ll be doing
- Reactive plumbing repairs in tenanted homes: leaks, weeping or burst pipework, dripping taps, running toilets, cisterns, ball valves, overflows, stopcocks
- Bathroom and kitchen work: tap, shower, WC, basin and sink replacements, wastes and traps, resealing, washing machine and dishwasher connections
- Clearing blocked sinks, baths, toilets and waste pipes, and reporting back where a drainage specialist is needed
- Hot water: immersion heaters, cylinders (vented and unvented), pumps, tanks and associated pipework
- Heating pipework that doesn’t need Gas Safe: radiator valves, leaks, bleeding, balancing, pressure issues on sealed systems
- Small planned works and refurbishment items when the diary allows
- Reporting back on anything else you spot – damp, mould, ventilation, further repairs – so the landlord gets the full picture
- Record-keeping on our app (ServiceM8): job notes, before and after photos, parts used
- Working to agreed response times and keeping the office updated when a job changes shape
- Participation in a rota for emergency call-outs/overtime
- Professional communication with tenants, landlords and letting agents – you’ll often be the only person from ARK they meet
What you’ll need
- Proven experience in domestic plumbing, ideally in tenanted or occupied properties
- Strong fault-finding skills and a safety-first approach
- Comfortable working independently in the field and managing your own day
- Full UK driving licence
- Good with people – tenants are often stressed when you arrive, and letting agents want clear, honest updates
Nice to have (not essential)
- Unvented hot water (G3)
- Gas Safe registration – if you hold it, there’s plenty of CP12 and boiler work too
- Water Regulations (WRAS/WIAPS)
- Legionella awareness
What we offer
- Company van, fuel card, uniform, phone/tablet
- Supportive, established team and clear progression
- Steady, varied work across the private rented sector – no social housing
Working pattern
- Monday–Friday 8.00 – 4.30
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £230.00-£260.00 per day
Work Location: On the road
