Full job description

The firm is seeking to recruit an experienced Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join our expanding Actions Against the Police team (RETRAIN). Full training will be provided should the candidate have no experience in this area.

An attractive package up to £70,000 p.a. is on offer for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have: -

  • 2 years PQE
  • 2 years litigation experience, which is essential;
  • A strong billing history;

Responsibilities:

  • Running a caseload from inception to conclusion, including investigations, obtaining expert evidence, drafting Letters of Claim, settlement negotiations, drafting pleadings and litigating as appropriate;
  • Vetting and risk assessing new cases coming into the department;
  • Working to deadlines;
  • Providing a high level of client service.

Experience requirements:

  • Experience running Actions Against the Police caseload is required but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience running a litigated caseload is essential
  • Experience with Proclaim is preferred however full training can be provided
