The Rotherham Information Officer will sit within the First Response MASH team.
The Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) sits within the First Response Service. All new information and referrals for HELP or HARM are screened within the MASH. We are proud of our relationships with our partners who are co-located with us. The MASH holds daily multi agency meetings regarding domestic abuse. Social care and Early Help work together with partners to inform timely and quality decisions for children.
An exciting recruitment opportunity has arisen to recruit a Rotherham Information Officer, in the integrated Early Help and Children’s Social Care MASH within CYPS First Response Service.
Working together to ensure that children and families have their needs identified early to receive swift access to targeted help and support or statutory intervention. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in children’s life, can work under pressure and effectively within a high demand busy environment.
The post holder will effectively receive and screen initial enquiries at the front door and suitably ascertain whether children are in need of HELP or suffering HARM. The role involves creating detailed, professional records in relation to “contacts/ referrals” and will analyse the information held by a wide range of agencies, to inform an outcome. Additional responsibilities include offering advice and guidance to professionals and families in relation to HELP and SUPPORT referrals.
Strong application of thresholds is a critical element of the role and is essential in order to identify potential levels of need and the most appropriate support pathway.
The Rotherham Information Officer is responsible for ensuring that children and families receive the right support and service within a timeframe; to comply with Rotherham Family Approach model and Working Together 2023.
Please get in touch if you wish to know more about the role, email Vanessa.Wolf@rotherham.gov.uk or Michelle.Ellis@rotherham.gov.uk. I would also encourage a visit to the MASH, to get a sense of the service if you have not already had such an experience.
Shortlisting: 27th July 2026
Interviews: 30th July 2026
This post involves working with children and therefore if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at an enhanced level. Further information about the Disclosure Scheme can be found at www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check
