Full job description

Are you a newly qualified Solicitor/FCLIEX or about to qualify? The firm is seeking to recruit a newly qualified Solicitor or FCLIEX into our expanding Actions Against the Police team. Full training will be provided, and no prior experience in this specialist area is required.

We will also consider paralegals with 4+ years litigation experience.

This role has an attractive package up to £40,000.00 basic salary p.a. plus significant bonus (paid monthly) on offer for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be newly qualified or soon to qualify as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
  • Have some exposure to litigation (during training contract, LPC/LLM placement, paralegal role or similar)
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Be motivated to develop a long-term career in litigation

Responsibilities:

  • Running a caseload from inception to conclusion, including investigations, obtaining expert evidence, drafting Letters of Claim, settlement negotiations, pleadings and litigation as appropriate

Vetting and risk assessing new matters coming into the department

  • Working to deadlines
  • Providing a high level of client service

Experience requirements:

  • Newly qualified or soon to qualify candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Previous litigation experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Experience with Proclaim is preferred, however full training can be provided
