Job Overview

We are seeking applications to fill vacancies in both detective and uniform roles. We are committed to making the most out of the existing skills that you have developed whilst offering you the opportunity to operate in a modern working environment.

Policing Suffolk offers a rich variety of challenges from vibrant towns like Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft, to the contrasting rural heartlands. A broad range of roles are available including traditional response, neighbourhood beat patrols, proactive problem solving, road policing and specialist roles in Protective Services with our preferred partner Norfolk Constabulary.

As well as recruiting transferees from all uniformed functions, we are also interested in officers who are currently:

  • Detective Constables who are ICIDP qualified or working towards the qualification.
  • Authorised firearms officers

Eligibility

Applications are invited from officers who:

  • Are currently serving within a Home Office–recognised UK police force.
  • Have successfully completed their probationary period.
  • Demonstrate high standards of professionalism, integrity and operational competence.
  • Are able to meet the vetting and fitness requirements for the role.
