Full job description

Role Description: A member of the EU Materials Team, responsible on purchasing various aerospace grade materials (mainly metals) & outsourced processing operations (such as machining & heat-treatment). The role involves working with existing suppliers, identifying new sources for materials / services, negotiation of price & terms, placement of purchase orders, controlling supplier performance / relationships.

Main Accountabilities:

· Placing MRP requirements on a daily basis

· Review of forecasted purchase plans with nominated suppliers

  • Manage purchase order acknowledgement and confirmation process
  • Maintain accurate information in ERP system
  • Produce and review supplier purchase order status reports
  • Produce supplier Key Performance Indicators
  • Managing supplier performance & relationships
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the business for all materials purchasing
  • Travel to suppliers & customers where required

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Procurement / supply change experience
  • Strong negotiation & commercial skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and report writing
  • Highly energetic, motivated & very focused and confident communicator
  • Full driving license

Desirable:

  • Engineering qualification
  • CIPS qualification or similar
  • Foreign languages, e.g. French, German, Dutch, Polish
  • Aerospace industry and metals knowledge / experience
  • Low cost sourcing experience

Working Conditions/Environment:

Professional business office environment

Hybrid working – site attendance rota scheme to be agreed
