Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated bench jeweller to join our busy award winning workshop. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled jeweller who takes pride in exceptional craftsmanship and enjoys working on a varied workload, including jewellery repairs, remodelling and bespoke commissions.

Working as part of an experienced team you will be responsible for delivering high-quality work while maintaining excellent attention to detail and meeting customer deadlines.

Duties

  • Perform jewellery repairs, restorations, and modifications with meticulous attention to detail and to a high standard
  • Working with metals including gold, silver and platinum, semi precious and precious stones, new metals and alloys and other materials such as beads, stones wire, shells, fabrics etc
  • Goldsmithing and silversmithing, as well as traditional bench skills such as soldering, resizing rings, cutting, polishing, casting and stone setting
  • Create custom jewellery pieces based on customer specifications and design sketches
  • Use hand tools and bench equipment to set stones, polish, and finish jewellery items
  • Collaborate with sales and design teams to interpret customer requests accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organized work station adhering to safety standards
  • Inspect finished products for quality assurance
  • Serving members of the public and processing payments if required
  • Maintaining a high quality of standards in work produced
  • Preparation of orders; carrying out all associated paperwork and ensuring urgent orders are returned in time to meet deadlines

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a bench jeweller or similar role within a jewellery workshop or studio
  • Strong skills in jewellery fabrication, stone setting, polishing, and finishing techniques
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, sketches, and customer specifications clearly
  • Ability to prioritise work and keep within set time scales
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
