Job Title: Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter – Bar and Restaurant
Location: Bolton

Reports to: Head Chef / General Manager
Salary: £12.71 Per Hour
Hours: 25 hrs - Monday- Friday

About the Role:

We are looking for a reliable and hard-working Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team at AO world. This is a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the kitchen, keeping it clean, organised, and safe, while assisting the chefs where needed and FOH where needed.

It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to gain kitchen experience in a friendly, community-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including equipment, surfaces, floors, and utensils.
  • Operate the dishwasher and hand-wash pots, pans, and other kitchen items as required.
  • Support the kitchen team with basic food prep (peeling, chopping, portioning) where needed.
  • Take in deliveries, check stock, and ensure items are stored safely and correctly.
  • Dispose of waste and recycling in line with kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Basic food preparation
  • Assist with stock rotation and help maintain a tidy, organised storage area.
  • Ensure high standards of food hygiene and health & safety are always followed.
  • Be a positive and dependable member of the kitchen team, supporting the Head Chef and colleagues as needed.

Skills & Experience:

  • No formal experience required – just a good work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • A strong sense of cleanliness, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and follow instructions.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
  • A positive attitude and pride in doing a good job behind the scenes.
