Full job description
We are a friendly, patient-focused dental practice committed to delivering exceptional clinical care and outstanding customer service. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment for both our patients and our team, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Practice Manager to support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
The Role
As Assistant Practice Manager, you will work closely with the Practice Manager to ensure the practice operates efficiently, delivers an excellent patient experience, and maintains high clinical, operational, and regulatory standards. You will also provide leadership and support to the reception and clinical teams, helping to foster a positive and motivated workplace culture.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Support the daily management and smooth operation of the practice.
- Lead, motivate, and support the reception and clinical teams.
- Assist with staff rotas, holiday planning, recruitment, onboarding, and training.
- Help ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor key performance indicators and support the achievement of practice targets.
- Handle patient feedback and resolve concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and supplier management.
- Support financial processes, including reporting, invoicing, and payment reconciliation where required.
- Promote excellent customer service and maintain a positive patient journey.
- Step into the Practice Manager role during periods of absence.
- Experienced in dental practice management or a senior dental administration role.
- Knowledgeable about dental practice operations and compliance requirements.
- A confident leader with excellent communication and people management skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure.
- Proficient with dental practice management software and Microsoft Office.
- Passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and supporting team development.
- Previous experience working within a dental practice.
- Supervisory or management experience.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Experience with CQC compliance and inspections.
- Knowledge of NHS and private dental practice operations.
- First aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
