Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and beverage service, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while ensuring the smooth operation of daily café activities.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverage items, ensuring adherence to food safety standards
  • Operate coffee machines and prepare specialty drinks, showcasing barista skills
  • Assist with food preparation, including assembling sandwiches, salads, and pastries
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including dining spaces and kitchen equipment
  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders accurately and efficiently
  • Handle cash transactions and perform basic math calculations for order totals
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a café or food service environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety practices is essential
  • Barista experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided
  • Strong serving skills with an emphasis on customer interaction
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments
  • Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • A friendly disposition with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
