Salary : £13.63 per hour

Working hours : Monday - Thursday : 08.00 to 16.30. Friday : 08.00 to 15.30

Who we are looking for

Following a successful year, we have a requirement for a General Operative to join our team on a temporary basis. It is expected that this will be initially for 6 months, however, there is possibility that this will extend for a further 3 months. There may be opportunity for the right candidate to become permanent.

As a General Operative, you will be responsible for supporting our assembly fitters, goods in team, plumbing, pre-kitting and panel room departments to ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will support with assembly and build activities where required and will have an excellent work ethic and high standard of cleanliness and organisation, enabling our factory to work at optimal capacity. You will be comfortable driving on company business, to our clients or suppliers as required. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that we deliver reliable and high-performing cooling solutions to our customers.

The right attitude is essential in this role.

You’ll have a practical, can-do attitude and be comfortable with looking around you and seeing what needs to be done. A self starter, and a quick learner - you will be doing what it takes to ensure that our teams are assisted in getting our coolers out of the door on time. You'll take pride in your work, look out for safety, and pull your weight as part of the team. Working speedily and reliably is key, and you’re willing to work overtime when required to meet deadlines. A clean driving licence is essential for this role as you will be visiting our client or suppliers for the purpose of deliveries. Previous experience of managing Goods In/Out is also an advantage.

Main duties :

Provide general operative support to:

  • Assembly Fitters, Goods In Team, Plumbing Team, Pre-Kitting Team and Panel Room
  • Assist with the movement, handling, and storage of materials and components
  • Support assembly and build activities as directed
  • Assist with pre-kitting and preparation of parts for production
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation across the factory, work areas, and walkways
  • Dispose of waste materials correctly and maintain high housekeeping standards
  • Local delivery and pick up of items from our suppliers
  • Operate basic hand tools and equipment safely
  • Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures
  • Wear PPE at all times and report hazards, defects, or issues immediately

Key attributes required for you to fulfil this role:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred
  • Used to working at pace and seeing what needs to be done.
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and follow instructions
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, organisation, and safety
  • Reliable, punctual, and positive work ethic
  • Willingness to learn and take on varied duties
  • A Full UK Driving licence
