  • Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all proposed works and specifications align strictly with current Building Regulations and local conservation area guidelines.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a key point of contact, liaising effectively with residents, operational teams, and supply chain contractors to ensure seamless progression of works.

Requirements: Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Heritage Stock Experience: Proven surveying experience within a social housing maintenance environment, specifically working with Victorian and Edwardian housing stock.
  • SOR Expertise: Demonstrable experience writing detailed specifications utilizing NHF SOR Codes (Version 6).
  • Technical Knowledge: Excellent, up-to-date working knowledge of current Building Regulations.
  • Reporting Skills: Ability to prepare highly articulate survey findings, technical notes, and definitive repair recommendations.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for managing resident relations and collaborating with operational teams and external contractors.
  • Qualification: HND (Level 5) or higher in Building, Surveying, or a strictly equivalent construction discipline.

Desirable:

  • RICS professional membership or working towards accreditation is highly desirable.

What's on Offer?

  • A highly competitive hourly rate of £25/hr PAYE.
  • A stable, predictable 40-hour Monday-to-Friday work week.
  • A genuine foot in the door with a major contractor, featuring a strong pipeline where the role is likely to extend or transition into a permanent position (£52k-£53k package).
