We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Leeds, a category B prison located in West Yorkshire.

HMP Leeds is a the busiest remand prison in England with a capacity for over 1000 inmates. There is free parking on site and good public transport links.

Hours

37.5 hours per week

Site offers 24 hour care so will need to be open to work days, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. We are recruiting for a healthcare assistant to support the wider healthcare team with tasks such as observations, personal care, bloods and screening etc.

2000 - 0730

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum per annum.

  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care

Qualifications required

  • NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
