Job Description:

Established nearly two centuries ago, FM is a leading mutual insurance company whose capital, scientific research capability and engineering expertise are solely dedicated to property risk management and the resilience of its policyholder-owners. These owners, who share the belief that the majority of property loss is preventable, represent many of the world’s largest organizations, including one of every four Fortune 500 companies. They work with FM to better understand the hazards that can impact their business continuity to make cost-effective risk management decisions, combining property loss prevention with insurance protection.

Key responsibilities Include:

The Property Valuation Consultant team serves as FM’s primary specialists for all property valuation–related matters. In this role, you will support FM colleagues and clients by providing expert guidance on valuation questions, strategies, and methodologies not limited to replacement cost evaluations. You will complete and review property valuations (including work performed by third-party providers), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with FM standards.

You will work closely with Client Service Teams, Claims, prospect accounts, Appraisal Services, and existing FM clients to deliver comprehensive valuation support across the policy lifecycle. This includes contributing to modelling inputs, special projects, and valuation-related initiatives, while helping to ensure a consistent approach among all property consultants.

The role also includes developing and delivering training for clients and FM personnel on valuation concepts and best practices, as well as mentoring newer Property Valuation Consultants to promote consistency, proficiency, and high-quality service.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, real estate, commerce or other applicable areas

  • At least five years of experience in real and personal property valuation, including building construction and machinery identification, with the ability to understand complex manufacturing and non-manufacturing processes

  • Strong English communication skills, written and spoken

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Benefits

The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience. The position is eligible to participate in FM’s comprehensive Total Rewards program that includes amongst others an incentive plan, life and disability insurance, well-being programs, pension plan, career development opportunities and flexible work.

FM is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse workforce.
