Salaried GP Opportunity – Park Green Surgery, Macclesfield

Join a thriving, supportive and forward-thinking practice

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Park Green Surgery in the heart of Macclesfield. As our patient population continues to grow, we are looking to welcome an additional Salaried GP to our friendly and highly supportive team.

You'll be joining a well-established practice comprising 6 GP Partners and 5 Salaried GPs, all committed to delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining the values of traditional family medicine. We embrace innovation, continuous improvement and new ways of working, while ensuring that our clinicians are supported to enjoy a rewarding and sustainable career.

With a list size of approximately 12,700 patients and a diverse patient population, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference within a vibrant and growing community.

Working together for better patient care

Park Green Surgery is part of the Macclesfield Primary Care Network (PCN), working alongside five neighbouring practices within the same modern, purpose-built medical centre. This collaborative approach allows us to share resources, increase capacity and create a positive working environment that benefits both staff and patients.

The role

We are a well-run, highly regarded GMS training practice and have successfully operated a Total Triage model since 2023.

We are seeking a Salaried GP for 4–6 sessions per week, working pattern to include both a Monday and Friday. We're looking for a team player who is enthusiastic about contributing to the continued development and success of the practice.

Our clinical services include:

  • Minor surgery
  • Contraception services
  • Extended hours provision

The role includes participation in a fair and supportive rota covering early, late and duty/triage sessions. We are committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance and work hard to ensure workloads remain manageable and sustainable for all clinicians.

Why join Park Green Surgery?

Quite simply, we're a great place to work.

We are proud of our welcoming, friendly culture and exceptionally low staff turnover, with team members having worked at the practice for over 30 years. We value our people and recognise that a positive, supportive workplace enables us to provide the very best care for our patients.

We offer:

  • Competitive salaried GP package, including protected administrative time
  • 7 weeks' leave (inclusive of 1 week's study leave), plus pro-rata bank holidays
  • NHS Pension Scheme
  • On-site parking
  • Consistently positive patient feedback through the Friends and Family Test
  • Strong support for professional development, portfolio careers and GP special interests
  • 8–9 Protected Learning and Development afternoons each year for whole-practice learning and team development

Outstanding multidisciplinary support

You'll be supported by a highly experienced and collaborative multidisciplinary team, including:

  • 3 Practice Nurses and a Healthcare Assistant delivering nurse-led chronic disease management and QOF work
  • 2 Pharmacy Technicians and Prescription Clerks
  • Physician Associate
  • Social Prescribers and Care Coordinators
  • Dedicated Document Workflow & Long-term Condition Recall Teams, helping to reduce GP administrative burden
  • Full-time Practice Manager and Operations Manager

Teaching and training

As an established teaching and training practice, we are actively involved in the education of medical students, Foundation Doctors and GP Registrars. We foster a culture of shared learning, mentorship and continuous professional development.

A practice we're proud of

  • High achievement in both QOF and IIF
  • Consistently recognised as a high-performing practice locally
  • Rated Good overall by the CQC in our 2025 inspection

If you're looking for a supportive team, manageable workload, opportunities for development and a genuinely enjoyable place to work, we'd love to hear from you.

We'd love the opportunity to show you what makes Park Green Surgery such a great place to work. We encourage prospective applicants to come and meet the team, explore the practice and get a real feel for our culture.
