What is on offer as a WCA Doctor Assessor?

  • Excellent starting salary at £72,000pa
  • Monday to Friday working hours
  • Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)
  • Birmingham based when working on-site
  • 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays + Pension + Package

What does the WCA Doctor Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day on behalf of clients seeking WCA (Work Capability Assessment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related activity. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;

  • A GMC Registered Doctor with a license to practice and 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
  • Someone who’s proactive and keen to learn
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Competent IT and computer skills
  • Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health
