Full job description
Are you naturally curious with a sharp eye for detail? Do you possess the drive to dig deeper where others might look past the surface?
Our Gadget Claim Team is expanding, and we are looking for ambitious, sharp-minded Desk Investigators to support a major client account. Whether you are an experienced claims handler or looking to take your very first step into the exciting world of fraud investigation, this is your chance to build a dynamic career.
The Role: What You’ll Do
As a Desk Investigator, you won't just be processing paperwork - you will be a critical line of defence and a champion for genuine customers. We will train you in advanced conversation management techniques to help you uncover the truth, spot fraud, and make definitive claim decisions.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Investigative Excellence: Conducting thorough telephone investigations using specialised conversation management techniques.
- Fraud Detection: Utilising databases and open-source intelligence searches to identify fraudulent activity.
- Empowered Decision Making: Taking ownership of claim outcomes based on your findings.
- Customer Advocacy: Answering inbound queries via phone and email, ensuring a seamless, stress-free journey for genuine claimants.
- Data Integrity: Monitoring claim input on internal systems and maintaining impeccable case file hygiene.
- Proactive Outreach: Managing outbound call enquiries to gather crucial information.
About You: The Perfect Fit
We are looking for someone with a unique blend of analytical grit and empathetic communication. You should be highly organised, but above all, you must possess the internal drive and meticulous attention to detail required to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Skills & Attributes
- The Mindset: A confident decision-maker with an analytical mind and a passion for problem-solving.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional telephone manner and soft skills - you know how to listen to what isn't being said.
- Customer Champion: A solid background in customer service and administration, with an understanding of complaints management (Preferable).
- Organised & Agile: Superb planning and organising skills with the ability to manage a fluid workload.
- High Integrity: Demonstrates exceptional behaviors and aligns with strong professional values.
- An understanding of claims handling or insurance fraud is preferred, but not absolutely essential. We hire for attitude and train for skill!
Growth & Development: Where Could This Take You?
We don’t just offer a job; we offer a career pathway. For individuals who demonstrate the right potential, drive, and dedication, this role comes with excellent development and progression opportunities. You will learn industry-leading fraud detection techniques and be supported by a team invested in your long-term success.

- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Weekends & Bank Holidays: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
