Job Title: Intelligence Officer

Rate: £16.72 - £18.74 per hour

Role Overview Join a critical national intelligence function based in Warrington, serving as a gateway for high-priority reporting and referrals from major global electronic service providers and UK companies under the Online Safety Act (2023). As an Intelligence Officer, you will undertake proactive intelligence development to identify key locations and subjects, working within relevant statutory frameworks. You will leverage advanced analytical techniques, perform geolocation assessments, and maintain rigorous corporate records to support law enforcement responses, protect vulnerable individuals, and pursue offenders nationwide.

Key Duties

• Process, assess, and evaluate high-volume, sensitive intelligence referrals from international and domestic platforms.
• Utilise varied intelligence development and research techniques to geolocate referrals and identify key subjects and locations.
• Perform download responsibilities and conduct rigorous risk assessments to drive proactive operational activity.
• Maintain detailed, accurate corporate records and casework documentation in line with statutory requirements.
• Apply lateral thinking and problem-solving skills to determine the most effective intelligence pathways.
• Participate actively in unit wellness, peer support, and team resilience initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

• Essential Experience: Proven background in research, analysis, and risk assessment within law enforcement, intelligence, or safeguarding environments.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to synthesise, evaluate, and draw actionable insight from complex data sourced from multiple channels.
• Time & Risk Management: Demonstrated experience working effectively under tight deadlines while managing operational and contextual risk.
• Technical Aptitude: Open-source intelligence (OSINT) experience or familiarity with digital data and geolocation techniques is highly beneficial.
• Resilience & Behaviour: Exceptional personal resilience, an enquiring mind, and the ability to make effective, timely decisions in a high-intensity setting.
