Purpose of the RoleThe AI Development Coach plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional learner experience for apprentices on the Level 3 and Level 4 AI programmes. Drawing on your industry expertise in applied AI and workplace AI adoption, you will guide learners in developing the technical capability, critical thinking, and professional behaviours required to confidently and responsibly implement AI within business environments.As a skilled coach, you will translate real-world AI experience into impactful developmental conversations, coaching session and practical learning activities. Your focus will be on enabling learners to apply AI tools, techniques and problem-solving approaches to authentic workplace scenarios, building competence that is both technically robust and commercially valuable.You will work closely with curriculum design teams to shape, refine and evolve programme content so it reflects current industry practice and emerging AI applications. Through personalised support, mentoring and continuous formative feedback, you will empower learners to progress, overcome barriers and achieve successful outcomes.The ideal candidate will have strong digital and AI literacy, practical commercial experience and the proven ability to coach, motivate, and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.Key Responsibilities
· Create an inclusive, motivating and supportive learning environment that enables apprentices to develop confidence and capability in applied AI.
· Provide high‑quality, constructive feedback on learner assignments and activities within the Apprentify Virtual Learning Environment, ensuring feedback is developmental and aligned to industry standards.
· Support apprentices in developing the professional behaviours, critical thinking, and digital confidence needed to use AI tools responsibly and effectively within workplace settings.
· Monitor learner progress, identify skill gaps, and tailor coaching sessions to strengthen core AI, data literacy, and problem-solving competencies.
· Manage the full apprentice journey, ensuring timely intervention, personalised coaching, pastoral support, and effective session facilitation where required.
· Maintain accurate tracking, reporting and quality assurance systems relating to coaching, assessment, compliance and learner progress.
· Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health & Safety, including Safeguarding and Prevent duties.
· Follow all Apprentify policies, processes, and quality standards consistently.
· Promote a culture of excellence by role modelling high standards of ethical AI practice, professionalism, and continuous learning in the context of applied AI and workplace automation.
Essential Skills & Experience
· Proven experience delivering training, coaching or facilitation (virtual &/or in-person)
· Practical experience applying AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot, automation platforms) in a business context
· Understanding of AI adoption in business workflows, productivity, service, or operations
· Strong knowledge of data ethics, responsible AI and information governance
· Ability to break down complex topics into simple, practical, workplace-ready learning
· Excellent communication, facilitation and learning-engagement skills
· Confident using digital learning and collaboration platforms
Desirable
· Experience delivering apprenticeships or formal training programmes
· Familiarity with project-based learning, portfolios, and workplace coaching
· Knowledge of emerging AI technologies, prompt engineering, and automation tools
· Understanding of Ofsted/ESFA expectations for apprenticeship delivery
· Relevant certifications (e.g. BCS AI Foundation, Microsoft AI, Google AI)
