Full job description

Full-time – 40 hours per week
£35,000–£45,000 depending on experience + performance-related bonus
Some flexible/home working available

Riverbanks is an established, doctor-led private medical aesthetics clinic in Harpenden.

We are looking for an experienced Practice Manager who can take responsibility for the day-to-day running and commercial performance of the clinic while maintaining the exceptional level of service expected by our patients.

This is not a beauty salon or spa management position.

You must have:

  • At least 5 years' experience managing a private medical or medical aesthetics clinic
  • Significant experience within medical aesthetics, with a strong understanding of aesthetic treatments and products
  • Experience working within a CQC-regulated healthcare environment
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Experience managing a premium private-patient experience
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of revenue, costs and profitability
  • The confidence to run a medical practice independently and make appropriate operational decisions

Applicants whose management experience is solely within beauty salons or spas will not meet the essential criteria for this position.

The role

You will work closely with the Medical Director and take responsibility for:

  • Day-to-day management of the clinic
  • Managing reception and the complete patient journey
  • Delivering an exceptional experience for high-expectation private patients
  • Managing doctors' administrative requirements and diaries
  • Analysing revenue, diary utilisation and clinic performance
  • Improving enquiry-to-consultation and consultation-to-treatment conversion
  • Reactivating existing patients
  • Increasing appropriate treatment uptake and patient retention
  • Setting and monitoring revenue targets
  • Producing clear monthly KPI and performance reports
  • Payroll administration
  • Stock control and purchasing
  • Managing cleaners, contractors and external suppliers
  • Supporting CQC compliance, audits, policies and clinic governance
  • Handling patient concerns and complaints professionally
  • Remaining hands-on when required, including answering enquiries, helping reception and supporting patients directly

The person

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Commercially sharp
  • Firm, confident and decisive
  • Calm under pressure
  • Highly organised and detail-focused
  • Naturally warm, polished and professional
  • Able to make an excellent first impression
  • Comfortable dealing with discerning private patients
  • Proactive rather than waiting to be told what to do
  • Numerate and able to understand what drives profitability
  • An excellent written communicator
  • Comfortable taking genuine ownership of the practice

The successful candidate should be capable of running Riverbanks confidently when the Medical Director is not present.

What success looks like

Within the role, we expect the Practice Manager to:

Take operational management away from the Medical Director, improve the commercial performance of the clinic and grow revenue while protecting the exceptional patient experience and medical standards for which Riverbanks is known.

The position is primarily clinic-based, although some flexible working and working from home can be accommodated where appropriate.

Please apply with your CV and a brief explanation of your medical aesthetics management experience.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking
  • Private medical insurance

Application question(s):
