Location: Radcliffe
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm, with one hour for lunch
Part-time hours: Requests for part-time working will be considered
Salary negotiable based on experience.
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Legal Secretary to join our busy Wills & Private Department, providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to the Department Head.
This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy professional environment, takes pride in delivering excellent client service and has strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Department Head.
- Preparing and formatting correspondence and legal documents using Microsoft Word.
- Managing emails, diaries and appointments using Microsoft Outlook.
- Undertaking audio typing/dictation accurately and efficiently.
- Dealing confidently and professionally with clients and other contacts by telephone, email and in person.
- Greeting clients and visitors and ensuring they receive a warm and professional welcome.
- Assisting with the day-to-day management and smooth running of the office.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring correspondence and documentation are dealt with promptly.
- Handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Providing general administrative support to the wider Wills & Private team as required.
About You
You will ideally have previous experience working as a legal secretary, preferably within wills, probate, private client or a similar legal environment. You will be organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities in a busy department.
We are particularly looking for someone with:
- Excellent telephone manner and client service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- A confident and competent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Experience with audio dictation/typing.
- The ability to work independently while also being a supportive team member.
- A professional, friendly and approachable manner.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
