About us:

Jigsaw Homes Group is one of the largest housing groups in England with more than 37,500 homes across the North West and East Midlands.

We provide quality, low-cost housing and play a wider role in making sure our residents thrive in their homes and benefit from living in healthy, sustainable communities.

About the department:

Want to make a real difference to people’s lives? Our Neighbourhood Safety Team has a passion for positive relationships, protecting our customers and plays a key part in helping us to transform lives and revitalise neighbourhoods.

Split across three geographical areas, the team has bases in Ashton-under-Lyne, Miles Platting in Manchester and Chorley in Lancashire.

With around 30 dedicated colleagues, we work hard to help reduce anti-social behaviour and are part of a Neighbourhood team that provides housing management services from letting and managing homes to employment and wellbeing support.

We take pride in our neighbourhoods and are committed to improving communities and targeting work where it is most needed.

About the role:

As a Neighbourhood Safety Officer, you will lead a varied caseload from early-stage reports, property related tenancy breaches, to more complex ASB cases, including high‑risk and repeat victimisation cases.

You’ll be responsible for managing caseloads, to make sure we can find effective resolutions in line with our processes, standards, timescales and targets.

You will be experienced in undertaking risk assessments, identifying safeguarding concerns, making safeguarding referrals and in multi‑agency case coordination.

You will have substantial, recent experience working in an ASB or community safety managing serious or persistent ASB cases. You will be able to operate confidently and professionally investigating ASB cases and be capable of progressing cases to court where necessary.

You will have a sound working knowledge of Anti‑Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, Injunctions Orders and Possession proceedings linked to ASB.

You will be able to provide clear, confident advice to victims, reported parties and partner agencies.

You will be skilled in gathering, assessing and presenting evidence including drafting witness statements.

You will be experienced in preparing legal documentation for County Court proceedings and ideally have experience self-advocating in the County Court or in giving evidence.

You will have experience in applying legal thresholds, proportionality assessments and working within the Equality Act 2010.

You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and be able to make decisions in high pressure situations. You will have the ability to manage confrontational situations professionally and safely.

A full, valid UK driving licence and ability to travel across operational areas is a requirement for this role.

When applying, you must clearly demonstrate:

  • Your direct ASB experience
  • Your involvement in legal enforcement action
  • Any experience of court attendance

If this sounds like the perfect job for you then don’t hesitate to apply now!
