Full job description

We are seeking a highly organised and commercially minded Buying Assistant to support the Buying team in delivering an exceptional range of home and lifestyle products. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and a passion for product.

Key Responsibilities:

Buying & Product Support

  • Provide administrative support to Buyers across assigned product categories.
  • Maintain accurate product information, pricing, specifications, and supplier details within internal systems.
  • Raise purchase orders and monitor orders throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Assist with product range reviews, competitor analysis, and market research.
  • Support the preparation of product presentations, range plans, and buying meetings.
  • Track critical paths to ensure products are delivered on schedule.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Build effective working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding samples, pricing, product information, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate sample management, ensuring products are available for photography, quality reviews, and meetings.
  • Work closely with Merchandising, E-commerce, Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Logistics teams.

Product Development

  • Assist with the development of new products and seasonal collections.
  • Research emerging trends in home furnishings, interiors, and lifestyle products.
  • Support Buyers in preparing product briefs and specifications.

About you:

Essential

  • Previous administrative experience, preferably within a retail, buying, merchandising, or commercial environment.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of homewares, furniture, bedding, or interior products.
