Full job description

Production Capacity Planner

Location: Park Royal, NW10
Job Type: Full-time
Company: Fit Out UK

About the Role

Fit Out UK is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Production Capacity Planner to join our manufacturing team in Park Royal, NW10.

In this critical role, you will act as the central link between Sales, Contract Managers, Production, Procurement, Design, Project Teams, and Senior Management. You will review inbound sales orders, assess whether requested delivery dates are achievable, and coordinate with production teams to ensure committed dates are based on realistic capacity across joinery, metalwork, powder coating, and assembly.

Your work will be key to preventing bottlenecks, improving delivery reliability, and providing clear visibility of production workload and risks across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review new sales orders and challenge unrealistic requested delivery dates where capacity is constrained
  • Liaise with Production Supervisors to evaluate workload, labour availability, machine capacity, material readiness, and operational risks
  • Support production planning by balancing workloads, sequencing jobs through each area, and identifying pinch points
  • Provide timely and clear updates to Sales, Contract Managers, Project Teams, and Senior Management on achievable production and delivery dates
  • Maintain accurate capacity trackers, workload reports, risk logs, readiness checks, and meeting actions
  • Escalate risks early (labour shortages, machine downtime, powder coating bottlenecks, missing materials, incomplete drawings, rework, or conflicting priorities)
  • Advise on date achievability and recommend realistic revised timelines with supporting evidence

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong manufacturing background with previous experience in production planning, capacity planning, or a similar role
  • Good understanding of manufacturing workflows, ideally within joinery, metalwork, powder coating, and assembly environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – confident working with supervisors and senior leadership
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Excel and comfortable using planning systems or reporting tools
  • Ability to analyse constraints, balance priorities, and communicate complex information clearly

What Success Looks Like

  • Prompt review of all inbound sales orders
  • Improved visibility of workload across all production sections
  • Early identification and mitigation of capacity risks
  • Reduced last-minute escalations
  • Stronger alignment between Sales, Production, and Procurement
  • Increased confidence in committed delivery dates

If you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and want to play a key role in supporting Fit Out UK’s continued growth and delivery success, we’d love to hear from you.
