SWK Group is a growing property maintenance company delivering reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), compliance works and installation projects for residential, commercial and property management clients across London.
We are looking for experienced, reliable and customer-focused Electricians to join our growing network of freelance engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled electricians seeking regular subcontract work with a professional and ambitious company.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical fault finding, repairs, testing, inspections, maintenance and installation works across a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties.
You will represent SWK Group on-site, delivering exceptional workmanship while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, customer service, health & safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical faults.
- Carry out reactive maintenance and emergency call-outs.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Install, test and commission electrical systems and equipment.
- Replace consumer units, lighting, sockets, switches and distribution equipment.
- Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and remedial works.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation where required.
- Identify potential safety risks and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
- Ensure all work complies with BS7671 Wiring Regulations, current Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
- Complete digital job reports, including photographs, test results and recommendations.
- Maintain excellent communication with customers, tenants, managing agents and office staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment at all times.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- ECS or CSCS Card.
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (preferred but not essential).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical maintenance or installation.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Own van, tools and calibrated testing equipment.
- Public Liability Insurance.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within occupied residential and commercial properties.
- Experience with emergency lighting, fire alarms, access control or door entry systems.
- Knowledge of landlord compliance and certification.
- Experience using digital job management software.
- Additional qualifications in EV charging, solar PV or battery storage are advantageous.
