Salary & Hours

• £13.10 per hour (16-17), £14.10 per hour (18+)
• A range of contract sizes are available, from 8 hours per week, including 12, 16, 20 and 24-hour contracts, plus some larger contracts.
• Our shifts are generally worked in 4-hour blocks, with a variety of early morning, daytime, evening and weekend shifts available.
• Store opening hours will be 8am–8pm Monday–Saturday and 9am–6pm on Sundays. but our store teams will be required to cover our operating hours of 6am through to Midnight so you will be asked as part of your application to provide your availability across these times.

We’re excited to be opening our first Home Bargains store in Guernsey due to open on 14 November 2026 and are looking for Store Team Members to join us and help build a new team from day one.

Job Overview

As a Store Team Member, you’ll be at the heart of our new Guernsey store, working together to deliver great service, excellent standards and an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.

There’ll be opportunities to work across different areas, including our shop floor and tills, Café, Bakery, Garden Centre, replenishment and cleaning, with training provided to help you develop your skills across the store.

• Be the smile that makes a difference: As a dedicated Store Team Member, you will be the face of Home Bargains, providing enthusiastic customer service by assisting with product queries and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
• Teamwork makes the dream work: Whether you're watering plants, baking fresh goods, stocking shelves, or keeping displays and workspaces clean, you'll support your team to maintain high standards across the store.
• Keep the momentum going: Take charge during the fill shift by unloading deliveries and swiftly getting stock out on the shelves, making sure everything’s ready for our customers to find what they need.
• No two days are the same: You will be trained across multiple areas of the business. Your versatility will shine as you handle tills, manage cash transactions, restock shelves, and adapt to various roles in the Café, Bakery, or Garden Centre.

Minimum Criteria To Apply

• Demonstrate a good understanding of customer service
• Experience of cash handling and working in a retail environment
• Experience of manual handling and stock replenishment
• Hardworking and reliable
• Polite and professional
• You must be available to start from w/c 26th October to complete the required induction and training ahead of our store opening on 14 November 2026.
• You’ll need to be able to work across your agreed availability within our 6am–Midnight, operating window, including relevant weekend/evening availability.
• You must have the required entitlement to work in Guernsey.
