Package: Starting £38,880 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Working Pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day. This role is operational and customer facing, so employees are required to work fully onsite. We support flexible working arrangements where possible, including part-time and varied working hours, while maintaining an onsite presence. Please let us know if you would like us to consider an alternative working pattern as part of your application.

Let us introduce the role

AWE is currently recruiting for a Facility Management Specialist to support the delivery of safe, compliant and effective facilities management services across a diverse operational estate.

The successful candidate will provide specialist advice to Facility Managers, coordinate service delivery, engage with stakeholders and help ensure that facilities remain safe, available and fit for purpose. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and making a tangible difference to operational performance.

As Facility Management Specialist, you will:

  • Support the delivery of facilities management services across a portfolio of operational facilities.
  • Act as a key point of contact for facility users, helping to resolve issues and improve customer experience.
  • Monitor compliance activities and support the management of facility risks and control measures.
  • Coordinate maintenance, statutory inspections and service provider activities.
  • Assist in ensuring facilities are maintained to appropriate safety, security and environmental standards.
  • Support the implementation of work control processes and safe systems of work.
  • Provide data, reports and operational insights to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure facility changes and upgrades are effectively integrated into operations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Build effective relationships with operational customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Who are we looking for?

We do need you to demonstrate experience in the following:

  • Experience within facilities management, estates management, property operations or a related discipline.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to analyse information and identify practical solutions to operational issues.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Good understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital management systems.

Everyone who works at AWE brings unique skills and perspectives to the table. We recognise that great people don't always 'tick every box'. That's why we focus on your potential, your fit with our values, your transferable skills as well as your experience. Even if you don't meet every point below, but you feel that this role and AWE are a great fit for you, please go ahead and apply, we'd love to receive your application.

  • IWFM membership or working towards professional accreditation.
  • Experience working in a regulated, infrastructure, defence, nuclear or industrial environment.
  • Experience managing contractors or service providers.
  • Understanding of asset management, work control or compliance management processes.

You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Some reasons we think you'll love it here:

AWE has wide range of benefits to suit you. These include:

  • 9-day working fortnight - meaning you get every other Friday off work, in addition to 270 hours of annual leave.
  • Market leading contributory pension scheme (we will pay between 9% and 13% of your pensionable pay depending on your contributions).
