Full job description

Pathway provides specialist residential care for young people and adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and associated challenging behaviour.

Our homes are beautifully appointed, family scale homes where great care is delivered by our committed team of experienced and qualified care professionals, who fully support individuals, helping them to lead full lives and gain greater independence.

We pride ourselves on our ability to develop and deliver person centred care journeys utilising our own bespoke PBS strategies and are currently looking to recruit a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Assistant to join our team.

Your role will involve:

  • deliver PBS support, delivering and embedding PBS strategies
  • review and update PBS plans under the supervision of the PBS Practitioner or Manager
  • develop PBS and communication resources
  • work with the care team to embed active support and improving life skills
  • attend internal and external meetings to gather PBS information and explain PBS strategies
  • contribute to PBS monthly meetings within each Home
  • support with the delivery of training to the care teams
  • support the PBS team with collecting and analysing data

Our requirements:

  • Hold a relevant qualification eg, BSc Psychology, or BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and autism
  • Passion to learn and develop PBS knowledge
  • Able to demonstrate resilience and professionalism in challenging situations
  • Understanding of least restrictive practices
  • Experience of working with digital care systems and MS Office
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel to our various locations
