Clinical Governance Lead (Psychologist)
Company: Mind Right
Location: Remote (UK based)
Reporting to: Clinical Director
Overview
Mind Right is expanding its clinical governance team. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join our team. This is a part time role of 20 hours per week (4 hours per day) to serve as a clinical and ethical safety net for our mental health services. This is a high-level governance role designed for senior clinicians who prefer clinical oversight, risk management, and supervision over high-volume treatment delivery. You will act as an internal escalation point for our staff and our extensive network of clinicians, ensuring that every user journey remains safe, evidence-based, and effective.
Key Responsibilities
● Clinical Supervision: Provide structured, high-quality documented clinical supervision to a multidisciplinary network of BACP counsellors, CBT therapists, psychotherapists, and HCPC psychologists. You will ensure their work remains within the bounds of their professional competency and Mind Right’s clinical standards.
● Risk Management: Manage the clinical safety of complex or high-risk cases entering through digital channels. You will review risk presentations, ensure immediate safety protocols are activated, and manage the transition to appropriate external pathways as required.
● Internal Escalation Point: Act as the primary consultant for staff and network clinicians on clinical matters, diagnostic uncertainty, or ethical dilemmas. You will provide the final word on clinical direction for complex cases.
● Liaison and Coordination: Lead the coordination of care for complex cases that require communication with GPs, crisis teams, or statutory services.
● Quality Assurance and Audit: Conduct regular audits of clinical notes and supervision records to ensure adherence to NICE guidelines and internal protocols.
● Incident Investigation: Lead clinical reviews of any incidents or complaints, identifying root causes and making recommendations for service improvement.
● Digital Safety Consultation: Provide clinical input to the product team to ensure that digital triage and automated user journeys remain clinically robust.
● Outcome Monitoring: Objectively track patient progress, monitoring performance indicators and evaluating treatment effectiveness
● Service Improvement: using all available data assist in identifying best practices, assessing effectiveness of the services and service development initiatives
● Meetings and Events: represent psychological services at management forums and customer reviews.
What we’ll look for in you
● Accreditation: Full accreditation and clean registration with: British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) (mandatory), along with significant post qualification experience in trauma focused treatment.
● Expert Supervisor: Demonstrated leadership experience providing clinical supervision to a range of therapeutic modalities (e.g., BACP, CBT). A formal supervision qualification is highly desirable.
● Risk Expert: Demonstrated high level of confidence in autonomous risk assessment and management, particularly within remote or digital environments.
● Governance: Strong understanding of clinical governance, GDPR, and safeguarding procedures
● Information and Technology: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams), email, and internet-based tools
● Communication and Planning: Ability to provide direct, actionable guidance to other clinicians and non-clinical staff. Strong ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload efficiently.
● Portfolio Professional: This role is ideally suited to those maintaining a private practice or other professional interests alongside a stable governance role.
