Job Description – Counsellor / Psychotherapist

Location: PROMIS Clinics, 2 Kendrick Mews
Working Pattern: Tuesday– Saturday (5 days per week)
Contract Type: Permanent / Contract
Start Date: Immediate start available

PROMIS Clinics is a leading private treatment centre specialising in addiction and mental health care, located in the heart of South Kensington. We provide personalised, trauma-informed treatment within a small, supportive residential environment, integrating evidence-based practice with compassionate care.

Our services support adults experiencing substance and behavioural addictions, alongside mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, and trauma.

About the Role

We are seeking a Counsellor / Psychotherapist to join our clinical team on a full-time basis within our residential service.

Shift Pattern

  • Tuesday 10:00 - 19:00
  • Wednesday 09:00 - 18:00
  • Thursday 09:00 - 18:00
  • Friday 09:00 - 18:00
  • Saturday 09:00 - 18:00

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver therapeutic group work and 1:1 sessions
  • Complete care planning documentation and maintain accurate, timely clinical notes
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary working and case discussions
  • Join clients for the evening meal, creating a calm, sociable, and supported environment
  • Facilitate an informal therapeutic group following the evening meal until 7:00pm
  • On Sundays, support clients in a therapeutic activity designed to foster new interests and peer connection
  • Build and maintain therapeutic relationships while upholding professional boundaries
  • Work in line with safeguarding, confidentiality, and trauma-informed care principles

Essential Requirement

  • Qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy

Desirable

  • Experience delivering individual and group therapy
  • Additional training in EMDR, CBT, Somatic Experiencing, or OCD/phobia treatment
  • Experience in residential, addiction, or mental health settings
  • Interest in integrative and trauma-informed approaches
