About the Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Pub Supervisor / Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Alexanders, our pub at Castle Green Hotel.

This is a hands-on role, working front of house. You’ll play an important part in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers, helping drive sales and local engagement.

What You'll be Doing

• Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running, opening and closing of the pub
• Working hands-on behind the bar and front of house alongside the team
• Ensuring consistently high standards of customer service
• Supervising, motivating and developing the pub team
• Managing stock levels, cellar operations and order requirements
• Monitoring costs, cash handling and helping maximise revenue
• Handling customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally
• Developing promotions and opportunities to increase local footfall
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Ensuring licensing, food hygiene and health & safety requirements are followed

What We're Looking For

• Previous bar supervisory experience
• Experience supervising and motivating a team
• Strong bar and restaurant experience
• Cellar management experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Good knowledge of licensing requirements, food hygiene and health & safety
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy operation
• Commercial awareness and confidence with stock, cash handling and cost control
• A friendly, approachable and professional manner
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
• Ability to carry out the physical requirements of this hands-on role, including moving furniture, replenishing stock and cleaning
• A Personal Licence, or willingness and ability to obtain one within three months of starting

Pub Opening Times: Open Wednesday to Sunday. Closed Monday & Tuesday Closed.

Contract & Hours

• Contract: Permanent
• Hours: 37 hrs per week
• Pay: up to £27,898 peer annum, dependant on experience
• Location: This is an on-site role based in Kendal. Applicants must be able to reliably commute to work.

Please note: Live in accommodation is not available at the hotel.
