Front of House Supervisor – The East Kent, Whitstable

Full Time | Competitive Salary + Tips

The East Kent is a modern, food-led pub in the heart of Whitstable, combining great food, quality drinks, live music, events and a welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike.

We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Front of House Supervisor to join our team and help deliver exceptional service while supporting the day-to-day running of the business.

The Role

As Front of House Supervisor, you'll work closely with the management team to lead shifts, support and train team members, and ensure every guest receives a fantastic experience.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and genuinely enjoys hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading front of house shifts and ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Supporting, training and motivating the team.
  • Assisting with staff rotas, opening and closing procedures, and daily checks.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance.
  • Handling customer feedback professionally and resolving issues confidently.
  • Driving sales through product knowledge and upselling opportunities.
  • Supporting events, live music nights and busy weekend services.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within hospitality.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A positive, hands-on attitude with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with bar service and restaurant operations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • A genuine passion for food, drink and creating great experiences.
