At The Muddy Duck, we’re a proudly independent pub and restaurant nestled in the heart of Hethe, just north of Bicester. Our home sits beside the village church, surrounded by Oxfordshire countryside, and we’ve always believed a great local should feel both familiar and a little magical. Under one roof, you’ll find a proper pub where you can settle in with a pint and a meal, and a relaxed restaurant serving honest, great-tasting food. We’ve held onto the charm and character of a true village pub while creating spaces that feel special, welcoming, and full of personality.

About the Role

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, takes pride in high standards, and enjoys being part of a tight, friendly team.

Location: Hethe, Oxfordshire

Key Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities

  • Wash crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and utensils to a high standard
  • Keep kitchen and wash-up areas clean, tidy, and organised
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned, maintained, and ready for use
  • Support the goods-in process: check deliveries, record temperatures, and store food hygienically
  • Maintain clean and organised food and equipment storage areas
  • Follow cleaning schedules and COSHH safety guidelines
  • Safely handle and dispose of rubbish; keep bin areas clean and compacted
  • Sweep/mop floors, wipe walls and surfaces, and reset areas for the next service
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by management

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail with high cleanliness standards
  • Works well under pressure and at speed
  • Understanding of food hygiene and COSHH regulations
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Positive attitude and a strong team player
  • Flexible and willing to support across multiple catering operations
