RELIEF GENERAL MANAGER – DECEMBER START - LIVE IN (NO BILLS)

Salary: Negotiable

Location: The Red Lion, Lion Lane, Turners Hill, West Sussex, RH10 4NU

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Pub General Manager to hold a fantastic pub on an initial temporary contract, with a December start. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on General Manager who is passionate about delivering an exceptional guest experience and knows what it takes to run a successful pub.

At present, a temporary holding assignment but could evolve over time.

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience as a General Manager within a quality pub environment

Ideally, a background with an independent pub group

Strong food and beverage knowledge and a genuine passion for food and drink

A strong guest-focused approach and excellent service standards

Good commercial and operational understanding

Experience leading, motivating and developing a team

A hands-on approach and the ability to hit the ground running

The Red Lion, Turners Hill, is a proud Harvey’s Brewery house full of charm and character. With its inglenook fireplace, horse brasses, and parquet floors, the pub has evolved from three separate bars into a welcoming L-shaped space perfect for enjoying a real ale.

Harvey’s has a turnover of £25m and brews a variety of styles of beer including Harvey’s Best Bitter, Harvey’s Old Ale and Harvey’s Pilsner. It trades as a wholesaler of beer, cider, wines, spirits and soft drinks across the south east and operates a fleet of 7 delivery vehicles from a central depot in Lewes. It operates 44 pubs including 12 pubs under direct management, as well as a Brewery shop and Web shop.
