Based Matfen Hall Country Hotel, Spa and Golf Estate

Reporting to the Head of Food and Beverage

Overview: Matfen Hall is a privately owned five-star country house 64-bedroom hotel, spa, and golf course. Converted to a Hotel in 1999 by Sir Hugh and Lady Anna Blackett, the Hotel was purchased by Sir David and Lady Sylvia Harrison and Family in August 2020.

Since the takeover in 2020, a programme of refurbishment and repositioning of Matfen Hall has taken place, with further investment to follow. The direction of the business is to achieve 5 Red Star status within the next two years. As Assistant Restaurant Manager you will be part of the team delivery amazing experience to our guests and ensuring the team delivers a high-level service.

As Bartender you could work between any of our Outlets on the estate which operate up to 7 days per week across Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Dinner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· To operate the delivery of a warm and engaging brand of hospitality, reading our guests needs, anticipating them before they need to ask.

· Ensure all guests receive a high level of service at all service times, table service with all drinks receiving the appropriate snacks.

· To ensure any feedback is communicated to the Head of Food and Beverage

· To ensure all beverages are prepared and served to the hotel standard

· Keep all lines on the bar and wine list stocked and ordered in line with par levels.

· To follow a cleaning schedule on the bars to ensure they area safe and presentable at all times

· To ensure that all items are correctly charged and allocated to the correct guest bedroom accounts

· To play an active part in staff training sessions

This list of duties is not exhaustive and additional duties may be required within reason for the better fulfilment of the role and the needs of the business.

PREREQUISITES

A passion for saying yes is the answer now what is the question, taking pride in finding innovative solutions to the ever-changing requests that guests will bring us. Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

EDUCATION

Previous experience in a luxury Hotel setting, with focus on Restaurant and Bar operations. EXPERIENCE

One year plus service in a customer facing role within a luxury Hotel setting, preferably within a two rosette restaurant or above.
