    • Mainly 0800-17:00 but Afternoon, Nights and weekend work will be required.

A genuinely exciting opportunity for an accomplished Head Chef to take the lead at one of the Cotswolds' most highly regarded food-led gastro pubs with rooms.

This is not your typical pub kitchen.

We are looking for an ambitious and talented Head Chef to lead the kitchen of an award-winning Cotswolds destination that has built an excellent reputation for its food, hospitality and character.

The property has featured in the Top 50 Gastropubs 2026, and has been highlighted by publications including Condé Nast Traveller and House & Garden as one of the UK's standout country pubs.

With a strong reputation already established, this is an opportunity for the right chef to take ownership of the kitchen, develop the offering and make their mark on an exciting and growing operation.

The Opportunity

As Head Chef, you will have genuine ownership of the kitchen, leading a talented brigade and working closely with the senior management team to maintain and develop the food offering.

The operation is centred around quality ingredients, seasonality, well-executed cooking and generous, ingredient-led food, with a strong focus on delivering an outstanding experience for every guest.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead, inspire and develop a professional kitchen brigade
  • Take ownership of the kitchen operation and food offering

  • Maintain consistently high standards across every service
  • Develop and mentor your team, building a strong kitchen culture
  • Manage ordering, stock control, GP and kitchen costs

About you

We are looking for an exceptional Head Chef who combines strong technical ability with genuine leadership and creativity.

You must have:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef within a high-quality restaurant, gastropub, boutique hotel or luxury hospitality environment
  • A strong background in modern British or contemporary cooking
  • Experience leading, developing and motivating a professional brigade
  • Excellent understanding of kitchen operations, GP, stock and cost control
  • A passion for quality ingredients, seasonality and well-executed food
  • The confidence and creativity to develop menus and evolve an established offering
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A hands-on, positive and professional approach to leadership
  • International experience or exposure to different cuisines and food cultures would be a strong advantage
  • A creative and forward-thinking chef who can bring fresh ideas, think outside the box and put their own stamp on the food offering
