US / UK Cross-Border Tax Specialist (Contract / Consultant)About Us

A leading UK healthcare technology company supporting thousands of healthcare professionals across England. We are seeking an experienced US/UK Cross-Border Tax Specialist to assist with personal and corporate tax compliance, international reporting, and strategic tax planning.We are launching a division in the USA and require help to process registartions and other tax benifits for investment into the USA.

Role Overview

We require a specialist with extensive experience in US expatriate taxation and UK tax compliance to review and manage complex cross-border tax matters , operating a successful UK limited company.

This is ideally suited to an independent tax consultant, boutique tax practice, or experienced US international tax professional seeking project-based work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess eligibility for IRS Streamlined Foreign Offshore Procedures.
  • Prepare or review US tax filings.
  • Prepare and/or review Form 5471 filings.
  • Advise on Controlled Foreign Corporation (CFC) reporting requirements.
  • Advise on GILTI and related US international tax provisions.
  • Review UK corporation tax and personal tax positions.
  • Prepare or review FBAR filings.
  • Prepare Form 8938 and related foreign asset reporting.
  • Provide practical advice on UK pension contributions and US tax implications.
  • Advise on dividend extraction and owner-managed business structures.
  • Liaise with UK accountants where required.
  • Develop a long-term compliance strategy for ongoing US and UK tax obligations and inward investment to USA .

Essential Requirements

  • Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in US international taxation.
  • Demonstrable experience with:
  • IRS Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures.
  • Form 5471.
  • FBAR reporting.
  • US citizens living in the UK.
  • Owner-managed UK limited companies.
  • US/UK Double Tax Treaty.
  • Strong understanding of foreign tax credits and cross-border planning.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience advising UK technology companies.
  • Experience with retained earnings and high-growth businesses.
  • Knowledge of US expatriation and citizenship planning.
  • Familiarity with UK pension and SIPP structures from a US tax perspective.

Engagement Details

  • Initial project to assess and regularise historical filings, and USA start up.
  • Potential ongoing advisory relationship.
