AI Solutions Engineer (Contract)
Location: UK – Fully Remote (occasional client or office travel)
Contract: Outside IR35 (expected)
Length: Initial 6 months (extensions likely)
Start: ASAP
About the Role
We are looking for an AI Solutions Engineer to join a growing AI consultancy delivering enterprise AI solutions for financial services and other large organisations.
You will work closely with a Technical Lead and a small AI delivery team, helping design, build and deploy production AI solutions. Alongside client delivery, there will also be opportunities to contribute towards reusable AI products and internal accelerators.
This role would suit someone with strong full-stack engineering skills who has practical experience building AI-enabled applications and enjoys working directly with clients to solve real business problems.
The Role
You'll be part of a collaborative AI delivery team working across:
- AI-enabled applications
- Agentic AI solutions
- Enterprise integrations
- Backend services
- Modern web applications
- Cloud-hosted platforms
- Data-driven solutions
You'll work alongside experienced AI engineers and solution architects, contributing to projects from initial design through to production delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-enabled applications using Python
- Integrate LLMs and AI services into enterprise solutions
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs
- Contribute to React-based front-end applications where required
- Work with cloud-hosted infrastructure and modern engineering practices
- Build data-driven solutions using SQL Server and Snowflake
- Support integrations with enterprise platforms including identity providers and third-party services
- Collaborate closely with solution architects, engineers and client stakeholders
- Contribute to reusable AI components and future product development
Required Skills & Experience
- Commercial Python development experience
- Experience building AI / LLM powered applications
- Experience with OpenAI or similar foundation models
- Experience with React and modern front-end development
- Experience with REST APIs
- Experience with AWS or Azure
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience working with enterprise applications
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
