About the role:

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Odoo Developer / Specialist to support and extend our Odoo platform across multiple international ecommerce and retail operations.

This is a freelance, technical role focused on practical development, integrations, troubleshooting, and ongoing system improvements across ecommerce, POS, and operational systems.

The role will involve a combination of:

• Odoo development and customisation
• API integrations
• troubleshooting and debugging
• resolving support and operational issues
• assisting internal teams with technical Odoo queries and improvements

We are looking for somebody comfortable working in an evolving environment, balancing both development work and day-to-day technical problem solving when required.

This role would suit someone with strong Odoo experience who enjoys working independently, solving real-world ERP challenges, and supporting live business systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, customise, and maintain Odoo modules across sales, ecommerce, inventory, accounting, POS, and operations
• Modify and extend existing Odoo functionality using Python, XML, and JavaScript
• Build and maintain API integrations (payments, shipping, third-party systems)
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical and operational issues within Odoo environments
• Assist with day-to-day Odoo support requests and technical problem solving
• Design and implement custom workflows, automations, and business logic
• Support and maintain integrations with ecommerce and operational systems
• Optimise system performance, reliability, and stability
• Assist with Odoo upgrades, patches, and migrations where required
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver practical technical solutions
• Document technical developments and system changes where appropriate

Candidate requirements:

• Proven commercial Odoo development experience
• Strong Python and custom Odoo module development skills
• Solid understanding of Odoo architecture, ORM, models, views, workflows, and security rules
• Experience with XML, JavaScript, and QWeb templates
• Experience integrating Odoo with third-party systems and APIs
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities
• Comfortable working on both development tasks and live support/problem-solving tasks
• Able to work independently and manage multiple technical tasks
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience with Odoo.sh or self-hosted Odoo environments
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and database optimisation
• Experience with ecommerce, POS, or accounting modules
• Experience supporting live ERP environments
• Familiarity with Git/version control and agile development practices
