Full job description
Be part of something new. Build relationships that last a lifetime. Change lives, including your own.
Quarriers is excited to be opening a brand-new supported living service in Bishopbriggs, providing personalised support to two gentlemen with learning disabilities as they transition into their new home.
This is a unique opportunity to join a service from the very beginning, helping shape a warm, welcoming and empowering environment where the people we support can thrive, grow in confidence and live the lives they choose.
As a Support Worker, you'll be much more than a carer. You'll be a trusted companion, advocate, mentor and champion, supporting people to achieve their personal goals, build meaningful relationships, develop independence and become active members of their local community. This approach reflects Quarriers' focus on person-centred support, independence, inclusion and helping people achieve positive outcomes.
Why This Opportunity Is Special
This isn't about joining an established team and following the status quo.
It's about being there from day one.
You'll help support two individuals through a significant life transition into their new home, creating routines, building confidence, encouraging independence and helping create a place where they feel safe, valued and empowered.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Help shape a brand-new support service from the ground up.
- Build genuine and lasting relationships with the people you support.
- Encourage choice, independence and personal achievement.
- Support involvement in hobbies, interests, friendships and community activities.
- Make a meaningful difference every single day.
- Work within a supportive, values-led organisation that invests in its people.
This is a 24/7 service and staff will be required to work early, lates and sleepover shifts across 7 days. There may be a temporary waking night opportunity to help settle the men into their new home. We are offering permanent part-time contracts between 16 and 35 hours per week. Availabilty to work any shift to meet the needs of the people supported is essential.
What You'll Be Doing
No two days are ever the same.
You could be:
- Supporting people to enjoy activities they love and discover new opportunities.
- Helping maintain a safe, comfortable and happy home.
- Building confidence and developing everyday life skills.
- Encouraging social connections, friendships and community participation.
- Promoting independence, choice and decision-making.
- Providing emotional support and encouragement through life's challenges and successes.
- Working alongside families, health professionals and colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Who We're Looking For
You don't need previous care experience to succeed.
What matters most is that you share our values and have a genuine passion for supporting people to live fulfilling lives.
We'd love to hear from people who are:
✔ Kind and compassionate
✔ Positive and enthusiastic
✔ Reliable and committed
✔ Respectful of people's choices and individuality
✔ Strong communicators and team players
✔ Passionate about inclusion and equality
You'll Benefit From:
- Comprehensive induction and training.
- SVQ qualifications and career development opportunities.
- Supportive management and regular supervision.
- Access to employee wellbeing support.
- Generous annual leave and pension benefits.
- The opportunity to make a genuine difference.
Our Values
At Quarriers, we are guided by: Compassion ¦ Empowerment ¦ Inclusion ¦ Dignity ¦ Partnership ¦ Accountability ¦ Excellence ¦ Outcome-Focused Practice.
If you want a career where every day matters, where relationships come first, and where you can help people create the life they want, we'd love to hear from you.
Join Quarriers East Dunbartonshire team and help create a place that truly feels like home.
