Bicycle Mechanic
Do you have a passion for bikes, a knack for fixing things, and solid workshop experience? We're looking for a talented, detail-oriented Bicycle Mechanic to join our growing team in Central London!
About the Role
In this role, you will work directly alongside our Workshop Manager to ensure our customers' bicycles are safe, reliable, and performing at their absolute best. You will be a vital part of our busy workshop, handling a wide range of bikes, from high-end carbon race bikes to commuter bikes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repairing & Servicing Bicycles: Diagnose mechanical issues, disassemble components, replace worn parts, and reassemble bikes to peak condition.
- Adjusting & Tuning: Fine-tune brakes, gears, shifters, and hubs for optimal performance.
- Building New Bicycles: Professionally assemble new bikes from components according to strict manufacturer specifications.
- Safety & Standards: Perform comprehensive safety checks to identify hazards and ensure every bike meets our high standards before it leaves the hub.
- Customer Interaction: Assist the Workshop Manager in communicating clearly with customers, explaining repairs, and making maintenance recommendations.
Schedule & Hours
- Full Time: 5 days per week 35/40 hours.
- Location: Based at our central hub in Covent Garden, London.
You’re a Great Fit If You Have:
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years working consistently within a professional bicycle repair/maintenance workshop environment (Essential).
- Technical Skill: A comprehensive understanding of modern bicycle components, specialised mechanical tools, and excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Mindset: Strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine passion for cycling and a willingness to learn.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience building premium bicycles entirely from the ground up.
- Experience working in a high-end retail or cycling hub environment.
