Full job description

Red Bull Powertrains is offering an incredible opportunity for a skilled Engine Builder to join our team as we head into our first-ever racing season with a Red Bull designed power unit. You’ll be at the heart of assembling, developing and perfecting our engines, from initial build through to race-ready performance, playing a crucial role in delivering a power unit capable of competing at the sharp end of the 2026 Formula One grid.

Based from our Milton Keynes campus you will be responsible for supporting the operation of the Assembly Group covering all aspects of power unit build, service and maintenance both at the factory and on event support as required. You will meet the highest standards in all areas of quality, commitment and conduct, ideally bringing previous experience building high-performance engines from the ground up with you.

Knowledge and Experience required for our Engine Builder role:

  • Cover all aspects of power train assembly with high emphasis on Engine Build processes and procedures, Turbocharger, MGUK, and ERS both at the factory and on event as requested by the Engine Build Team Leader or Trackside Chief Mechanic.
  • Prepare and build power units for both dyno and trackside operations.
  • Manage all build specification, up revisions and component lifing in accordance with Production Control and Technical Operations instructions.
  • Assist with other activities deemed appropriate by the Engine Build Team Leader or Head of PU Operations.

  • Communicate assembly related quality issues to the appropriate key stakeholders ensuring faults/NCR’s are recorded via the internal business Faults System.
  • Become an integral member of the Assembly Group team, providing support to all team members and promoting open discussion with members throughout the business.
  • Ensure the highest standards of operation, organisation and cleanliness are met.

Key Attributes of the Engine Builders:

  • Demonstrate a high level of technical understanding and ICE assembly competence.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and follow technical build processes and procedures including checklist data entry.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel to enable operation of internal business systems.

At Red Bull Powertrains, we believe that success isn’t just about speed, it’s about the team behind the victory. We trust, support, and challenge each other, always pushing for better. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves, knowing that the best results come when we enjoy the journey together. We offer a competitive salary, plus:

  • Bonus scheme
  • Private healthcare
  • A pension scheme
  • On-site gym
  • Free daily food allowance
  • And many more!

You will be joining a team that’s as ambitious as it is supportive. If you want to be part of something special, apply now and help shape F1 history.
