Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Klemm 708 Operator (RAIL) and become a vital part of our rail operations! In this role, you will be responsible for operating the Klemm 708 rail crane to assist with the loading, unloading, and movement of rail cars and freight. Your expertise in management, maintenance, and driving will ensure smooth, safe, and efficient rail yard operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where communication skills and attention to detail are essential for success. - You will need PTS & HS2 Site inducted.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Klemm 708 rail crane safely and efficiently to load, unload, and position rail cars and freight.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on the crane and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage daily operational tasks, including coordinating with team members to prioritize work orders and schedules.
  • Drive company vehicles to transport materials or personnel within the rail yard as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate movements and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Conduct safety inspections before and after shifts to identify potential hazards or equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain detailed records of operations, maintenance activities, and safety checks in compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in management or supervision within a rail or heavy equipment environment.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures for cranes or similar machinery.
  • Valid driving license with a clean driving record; experience operating heavy machinery is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively relay information across teams and departments.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
  • Attention to detail for performing inspections, recordkeeping, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Prior experience working with rail systems or cranes is highly desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
