Real Estate Finance Lawyer - Min 2 Years PQE

Job location: Hybrid working with a minimum of one day per week in office (London or Manchester)

Hours of work: Full time; Monday – Friday 9am-5.30pm (37.5 hours)

Job purpose:

This role provides high quality legal support managing a case load of transactions and supervising a supporting Paralegal. The role is responsible for providing excellent service within a team that operates at a fast pace and high volume, with the opportunity to learn and develop as you grow.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing case load of transactions
  • Running transactions
  • Reviewing paralegals’ work (e.g. enquiries, reports and correspondence) and providing feedback and training.
  • Reviewing client due diligence (ID, proof of address, source of funds etc.) and completing matter risk assessments.
  • Supervising and mentoring paralegals, ensuring transactions progress efficiently and proactively.
  • Taking overall responsibility for delegated files, including post-completion requirements.
  • Completing pre-completion file sign-offs, including reviewing lender reports, purchaser reports, drawdown conditions and completion statements.
  • Reviewing files at the outset with the paralegal to identify issues and risks early
  • Interacting with client as key point of contact

Experience required:

  • Qualified lawyer minimum 2 years PQE
  • Experience of working within legal teams
  • Microsoft office suite
  • Case management systems

Skills:

  • Able to work under pressure and produce results within tight timescales
  • A solutions focussed lawyer with the ability to think pragmatically
  • Efficient and organised with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator with strong customer service skills
  • Proactive operator with a ‘can do’ approach
  • Willingness to learn and develop

Desirable experience:

Experience of working within property or banking sector is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
