Overview

We are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the reception area. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with office and administrative experience to contribute to a caring and efficient medical practice. The position is paid and requires a friendly, detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment
  • Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations using practice management software
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously, directing enquiries appropriately
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update information as required
  • Process patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry
  • Manage correspondence, including emails and postal mail
  • Assist with billing procedures and insurance documentation where necessary
  • Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and welcoming at all times
  • Support other administrative staff as needed to ensure seamless clinic operations

Experience

  • Prior office experience is essential, preferably within a healthcare setting
  • Administrative experience demonstrating organisation and attention to detail is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in using office software programmes such as MS Office or equivalent
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanour
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
